Who I am
Art has been a part of my Italian family’s history for a couple of generations at least: my grandfather Daniele, a gifted artist, died at the age of 23 in World War II. Following in his creative footsteps, my sister and her daughter found their calling at the art academy.
I took a different path though: I devoted myself, heart and soul to the study of science (which I still adore), to music, sport, dance, and later to languages and communication. Strangely enough, despite my childhood filled with doodles and sketches, I never truly embraced the title of an artist…
But life has always a way of surprising us if we keep our eyes open! In the past years, amidst the turbulence of my professional life and at the same time the gentle nudges from my husband, who unwaveringly believed in my “latent talent”, I found myself immersed in the world of painting. The canvas became my “sanctuary”, and I’d lose track of time, painting for 12 hours straight, pouring out my emotions. Then, when I realized that I needed to improve my technical skills, I sought for support from an Italian artist, Antonio Caputo, who taught me the secrets of colour shading as well as the properties of acrylic paints and the tricks to achieve certain results. Later, I joined an online gallery for emerging artists, I attended workshops and, finally, video tutorials became my companions on this newfound artistic odyssey 😛 And now, here I stand, connecting and sharing my creations with the world.
My View of Art
Painting allows artists to give unhindered space to emotions, be they positive or negative… But more than that, painting is for me a journey of self-reflection that teaches me to juggle self-criticism, resilience, and organizational finesse. Creating artwork also lends me a sense of making a tangible contribution to the world: the paintings become an “enrichment of the environment” that I “beautify” through my creative impulses – thus inspiring the hope of making a positive impact on the world around me through my artwork. And finally, there is the timeless imprint of my personality that I leave behind through my paintings. A piece of our soul, a “legacy”, manifests itself in every brushstroke and every shade of color. This is how we become immortal through our art because it not only shows images of moments, but timeless expressions of our unique existence.

How I paint
My art is three-dimensional and experimental. I like to use different materials on my canvases: Metal sheets, resin, sand, stones, gesso, stucco, acrylic paints, pouring medium, water, food. My painting tools are mainly brushes, palette knifes, sticks, sponges, self-created stencils.
I paint what I see and strikes me – in reality or in my dreams – mixed with what I feel, so that I could be defined an “expressionist”. I am neither too abstract nor too figurative, and above all I don’t always paint the same subjects but like to vary from landscapes to naked bodies to concepts. I would say that my “constant” is the desire to convey vitality, passion, warmth, and emotion. My paintings want to be a proof of love for the universe. Relevant themes in my art are life, existence, nature, the universe, passion, love, feelings, the human being.
I create my works from home, in my own room, because I need a familiar environment to feel at my ease while I work and isolation and silence to concentrate and enter a certain state of mind. And I don’t have a specific time to paint, I am quite random with my schedule.

My CV
In 2018, I met my husband, John. Not only did he capture my heart, but he also ignited my creative passion.
– I was determined to unlock the magic of acrylic colours, so in 2019 I ventured into an acrylic painting course with my teacher Antonio Caputo. He taught me the secrets of colour shading as well as the properties of acrylic paints and the tricks to achieve certain results.
– In 2021, I ventured into the experimental art world at a twelve-hour workshop in Steinhausen under the guidance of Erica Wittenwiler. My artistic journey continues to pick up speed as I take inspiration from talented artists on Instagram and YouTube. Picture by picture, mistake by mistake – this is how I grow as an artist.
– In 2022, I found my place in the connectingart.ch artist community and in October 2023, I participated in the Art & Wine 2023 exhibition.
– In February 2024 I finally setup my own website artamabile.com for the online sale of paintings and printed products on various media (canvases, mugs, bags, etc.). An interview with me as an artist can be found on the culture blog Culturamoremio.
– To come: many art events and collaboration projects I will be involved in! You can view them here
